International Junior Science Olympiad(IJSO), Korea Junior Science Olympiad(KJSO), physics problems.
Abstract
In this study, the physics test problems of the International Junior Science Olympiad(IJSO) and
Korea Junior Science Olympiad(KJSO) were comparatively analyzed. After classifying the questions of IJSO
and KJSO according to the curriculum of KJSO, we compared the content elements and identified
releveances of the problems offered by IJSO and KJSO. Compared to IJSO, KJSO tends to be evenly
presented in all areas, but both IJSO and KJSO had a high percentage of questions in the field of mechanics,
and they value the ability to interpret and analyze the rectilinear movements of objects, including fluids.
Overall, the part of questions for IJSO and KJSO is very similar, but since there are no questions for the
part of rotation in IJSO, it is necessary to change the proportion of questions considering them in KJSO.
Since KJSO's curriculum is more detailed than IJSO's syllabus, it seems desirable to supplement the
deficiencies based on the current curriculum.
