Characteristics of the developmental path of eminent adult and gifted children

Abstract

Genius is another Psycho-biological species differing from man, in his mental and temperamental process as man differs from the ape. Defining gifted is a task fraught with difficulty ; a definition should give a formal and concise description of the meaning of a concept or a construct. Giftedness or the synonyms high ability and talent can assume different meanings. My definition is : Giftedness is an individual potential for exceptional achievement in one or more domains. Giftedness is a combination of advanced development and creativity. Many studies and authors favoring newer conceptual definition of giftedness acknowledge the multidimensionality of the phenomenon.
